There is very little that isn't available in france, exception being plasterboard finishes but maybe you can buy them in a neighbouring country, its just a question of knowing where to look and not fixating on the the brico sheds.

Steel or stainless gaine, MRL 5557, is available, as is flex metal gaine, CSA 4421, for the corners if you cannot bend the tube. It must be filled with câble and not wire, which is fine in most situations, BUT, if any thing larger that 5RG it becomes very difficult to get tube large enough without it really looking like it belongs in a factory. The tube and gaine is available in 16, 20 & 25mm or if you really want it in 40, 50, 63mm. The surface mounted boxes, in a metalclad look are available, but any thing larger than 20mm tube is difficult to fit neatly. It should not be used in rooms that are considered humid. We have done two installations of this 'industrial look', both used Soliroc sockets and appareils. In both cases Consuel certs were issued, but it was not as straight forward as with 'normal' installations.

A good site though, I ordered 10 LED replacement neon tubes and a LED bulb with presence detection, all were a very good price or so I thought....................
I'm sure the original shopping basket had the goods at the price marked on each item listing which did not say HT or TTC or whatever the Spanish phrase would be, the total was the total of the items with €5.60 delivery which did seem a bit cheap.
Then during the Paypal back and forth the items were 20% more with TVA (I might not have seen it before, it could have been off the bottom of the screen), delivery then became €12 (acceptable) plus TVA (not so acceptable now) and a €2 surcharge for Paypal which Paypal say merchants should not do, - but they do do!
It was still a reasonable price so I validated the payment.
Then I realised the basket had not included a 5m led strip which I wanted and there would now be a second €12 + TVA delivery charge if I ordered it
Ali-Express won on that one!

I understood and agree. I use Google.fr most of the time now that I no longer make trips to the UK and that having stuff delivered is either costly or impossible. I buy plumbing fittings (PER à cintrer) on line and electrical stuff when I have a project but for larger, heavier stuff or one offs it has to be the bricos.
When I said galvanised conduit was not available in France it was because I have not even once seen it in any public building, commercial premises of factory, not even at Amazon Boves although there must be some. Same deal with steel wire armoured cable, it probbaly does exist but as the Normes dont require its use it does not effectively exist.

I think thats a sweeping statement, but then I've worked on lots of industrial buildings so having seen it I never question its availabilty.

I think that looks really good and ‘on trend’ JohnnyD and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen similar in restaurants.
If your cooker has a lid like the one in the photo that’ll obviously protect the wall behind from splashes etc…..
