It's a safe bet that I've eaten it too, all unknowing, as it's frequently used as a substitute for lamb in Greece and India. If chevreau is as plentiful as Cernunnos suggests here in France, it's a pity that it's not cheaper (as Exile suggests it's expensive). I'm always game (ha! See what I did there?) to try new experiences. (She says in a frantic attempt to get the thread back on subject. Sorry, curtis !). Back on subject . No goat allowed to be imported from the UK into the EU !
It's not cheaper for the same reason that lamb is not cheap , the supermarkets .

You can graze them on pretty much anything, but for religious beliefs I think pork would be the most eaten meat.

Yes. From piglet to ready for market is incredibly quick, and they'll eat almost anything.

Just spotted a massive pack of chevreau in a Pas de Calais supermarket today. First time I’ve ever seen it in France. Well, I have eaten goat curry in the French département of La Réunion, so I suppose technically I have.
