Just out of curiosity what are you guys paying for 13kg bottles of propane these days, last I remember was over 30 Euros.
Here the price is 16.35 down from 17.52 a month or so ago. Butane will be a couple of Euros more but don't use it so don't know for sure.

Yikes.
Here the price of 13kg bottles bought from official outlets (Repsol garages or from their roving truck) is regulated by the government.
It's reviewed every 2 months but cannot rise more than 5%, or go down of course.
Buy the same bottle from an 3rd party however and they can charge what they like.
Not sure I should tell you what petrol and diesel cost!

€29.99 for 11kg of propane or 13kg of butane, supposedly the same calorific value in each.
Same price as a year ago, it hasn't gone up one centime yet the "P" is for "Petroleum" so I had been expecting it to go up like Diesel and Petrol but even more without the government subsidy that road fuel had and still has.
Why has the market price for oil and gas gone through the roof yet LPG has not moved? I'm not moaning mind!
Ignoring flue losses and combustion efficiency heating by bottled gas is only one or two centimes more per kwh than electricité and with the announced and approved 15% rise for electricité next year bottled gas will be cheaper, something has to be very wrong for that to happen.
Is the cost of GPL delivered to a citerne the same as last year?
I am using bottled gas for heating and hot water, OK I am in a caravan but I can run them all on electricité with the volt drop through the hook up lead and in the dodgy house wiring its cheaper on GPL and less likely for something to catch fire which is again very wrong but until I rewire I dont like drawing more than 1kw, at 2kw I lose 5v in the hook up lead and 15v in the house wiring! that is heat lost to the outside air and an unheated building and a fire risk.

In the summer, we needed gas for the BBQ, went to the local Intermarche and at the petrol station there was a serve yourself gas dispensary, I believe you put your old bottle in the right compartment, pay the money on the machine and it will release a full bottle, it was over €40 for the brand we had to replace, went into the supermarket and bought a big bag of charcoal instead.

Very useful site, and a spot check of one local garage showed it was up to date. However at least 3 local garages aren't shown?
