Ours became available on Monday, was expecting to pay about 600 euros but the Avis said '0' which was a big surprise. The detail did mention - 'Plafond non utilisé pour les revenus' for 2018, 2019 and 2020 so that might explain it.

The 2021 tax notices for 2020 tax have started to appear online, depending on department.
The full timetable for the appearance of the avis d'imposition 2021 is
between 26 July 2021 and 6 August 2021: if you declared online and are due a refund (or you do not have to pay anything)
between 30 July and 7 September: if you opted for the paper form, and are due a refund
between 4 August and 7 September: if you made a paper declaration and have nothing to pay
between 30 July and 6 August: if you declared online and need to pay extra tax for the year 2020
between 5 August and 1 September: you have used the paper return and need to pay extra tax for year 2020

Thanks Elsie, now totally in the dark as to why we don't have to pay any tax this year but shouldn't complain.

Thanks Elsie, now totally in the dark as to why we don't have to pay any tax this year but shouldn't complain. I would make sure they haven't made an error. It happened to me 4 years ago. I was given a tax credit I didn't claim and I was called in and had to go back over 3 years declarations line by line. Took 2 rdv and 4 hours only for them to say they'd made an error. Never got a written confirmation they'd made an error, nor a new avis.

They never make errors!! Our income is about the same year in and year out yet the tax we pay can vary quite a lot. One year we got a rebate and we hadn't paid anything. On the basis of swings and roundabouts we just pay up.

The ridiculous thing was we got our French accountant neighbour to check our declaration as it was different from normal and she said we should expect a bill of around 600 euros but it was zero.

Had you been paying tax monthly? If so, the avis includes the amount you have already paid. So the figure on the front page may show zero. see these two lines which show your tax and the tax already paid in advance Impôt sur le revenu 2020 dû 53: Acomptes prélevés en 2020 sur votre compte bancaire : This line shows your total tax IMPOT NET Total de l'impôt sur le revenu net... and this your total social charges Solde des prélèvements sociaux 2020 53:

We don't usually pay any tax so this year was going to be a 'one off' which we were prepared for.

Can anyone tell me what this actually applies to and how it is calculated?
"(51)Ce crédit d’impôt s’applique sur les revenus du patrimoine, d’activité ou de remplacement de source étrangère, dès lors que la convention internationale conclue entre la France et le pays à l’origine du revenu prévoit celui-ci en vue d’éviter une double imposition"
I received a credit for this the past two years but not this year and would like to know what revenue it refers to before contacting tax office.
Many thanks.
