I'm always rather bemused by postings like this. Pointing out UK problems does not cure the French ones. And vice versa. By the way, it was you that pointed out the UK problems....

I thought people on here said power cuts would never happen in France as EDF would just reduce everyones power usage on Linkys to a minimum? Power cuts have been happening ever since we arrived 15 years ago. It varies from a couple of seconds to a couple of weeks in the case of tempêtes, to pre-advised, planned cuts for maintenance work, but they're a given.
The Linkies were just a neat move on the part of the Government to gain more direct control. That's France's new devise...."Contrôle, Manipulation, Imposition"

To be fair to Mr Selby, he didn't. He quoted a previous post.

If you read again, he either didn't finish his post or he just repeated a post but that made no sense, read back

Things aren't looking great in the UK either. Rail workers Train Drivers - striking on different days to rail workers Nurses in some areas University Lecturers Postal workers Still to vote on strike action: Some doctors NHS workers Teachers Ambulance crews and office controllers Fire crews . Communication Workers Union have agreed a pay increase but the members by many accounts are not at all happy As in this post which made no sense ForumUser 2 as it had no ending from Mr Selby

Somebody said Mr Selby introduced the UK's problems into the thread. He didn't.
Because he failed to use the quote function properly (easily done) doesn't alter that simple fact.
I'm not even sure what point you're trying to make.

You could, of course, just point to where Mr Selby introduced the UK into the subject. Not easy to do when he didn't. If you think about it (go on - try something new) if you are referring back to the post where he failed to complete a quote, then that post preceded his. It is that quoted post, not Mr Selby, that introduced the UK. That would be Exile.

@ Houpla, the smart grid and the smart meter have not been invented by Paris: From Wikipedia:"The first official definition of Smart Grid was provided by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA-2007), which was approved by the US Congress in January 2007, and signed to law by President George W. Bush in December 2007. Title XIII of this bill provides a description, with ten characteristics, that can be considered a definition for Smart Grid, as follows:....." The introduction of the smart meter LINKY in France, a bird's-eye view.

It's a natural talent. Along with understanding chronology.
