He must be very bored as his own 'active' forum barely averages two posts a day. He must be tired and shagged out after a prolonged moderating squawk. Nah just another old codger who thinks Conservatism is the next best thing to sliced bread.

I perceive the strikes in the UK as a result of the government policies over the last years , including the delusion that brexit was a good move. The UK has a government that should go to the polls to put things to rights with the voters. They are too far removed from reality. I perceive that brexit was a calculated move by those in the bankers club to make themselves loads of dosh by selling out on Sterling.

There is very little honour and truth left in UK politics. I remmber the statement made by the instigator of the Brexit problems " whatever happens , I will still be your Prime Minister" He quit straight after the result.

I have never understood why the anger was aimed at Mrs May who was doing her duty and really didn't deserve it, then Boris, OK he is deserved at most any time, but never Camerunaway, he was and remains really deserved of anger and scorn yet he was instantly forgotten just as Ms Truss is currently being yet it could be that for years to come the country will be paying for her legacy like Camerunaway's despite her short tenure.

I think that if folk go on strike the whole Union staff should also not get any pay either.

That is the usual situation in the UK. Some unions offer strike pay but it is minimal.
My experience in France however is that once the strike is resolved, part of the settlement is to pay te workers their normal pay while they were on strike. Not sure how universal that is however.

One thing that is really noticeable to me is the silence from Labour when normally strikes on this scale would be a gift to the opposition, I find it hard to believe that under a different leader the unions would have nothing but their full support.

Labour doesn't need to say or do anything , just sit back and watch the tories destroy themselves.

The beauty of this situation is that the opposition don't need to overtly support the strikers. The British people are doing a good job of that. The vast majority support them. The timing is perfect, the Tory government are getting a loud and clear message. You're out, and the sooner the better.
