In some ways you can't help but feel sorry for Sunak. We had the spiv, the robot, the narcissist then the nutjob and when the tories finally elect someone somewhere within the borders of normal as PM he's given a fatally wounded party to lead to what should be a colossal electoral defeat.
Ah well...

Watch the Labour party slowly sidle up to the idea of rejoining the EU !

Starmer said on the radio this morning that he thinks the 19% pay rise demand from nurses is unaffordable, unfortunately he won't say what sort of rise is affordable.

It is high time that compulsory arbitration was legislated. That would draw the teeth of the poisonous left who are trying to bring down the elected government and install rule by trade union.

Not down to him to decide that. He is simply trying to appear sensible.

With multiple strikes now planned for various parts of the Public Sector in the coming weeks do people think this is part of a grand plan to bring down the Tory government and are the strikes justified? Could some of it be down to Russian interference? It wouldn’t be the first time. According to the ex chief of the KGB in London Jack Jones was a Russian agent and Michael Foot was given financial support for his causes ( he was not an agent but a person with views they wanted to encourage)

I left out the word ‘independent’ so it would be compulsory independent arbitration. Such a radical change would also involve other things such as workers being entitled to cut price shares or share options as part of their deal, which could be disposed of when someone retires or leaves the company.

We had dinner with some friends who are lifelong tories and the conversation went along the lines:
"We are rally worried that the next govt will be Labour"
"Why?"
"Because we don't want then taxing and spending and ruining the economy. We need sound fiscal management."
Honestly, there wasn't even the hint of irony in his voice!
