Last week I bought 15€ worth of gazole (diesel) at 1.45€ per litre. This weekend, Intermarché in our town, and possibly in a town near you, have their operation 'Carburant à prix coutant' and gazole is 1.34€ per litre, so my wife queued up this morning to benefit.

I noticed this morning when I walked past a petrol station that unleaded was 134.9p and diesel 135.9p per litre, dearer than when we last filled up a couple of weeks ago.

Le Clerc do this every year but its only this year that it was pointed out to me that it is this particular weekend, at the start of the traditional holiday period. With advanced notice it meant I could maximise my purchase of fuel for two cars at a 20 litre bidon for the garden equipment. And no queue whatsoever, which surprised me.

Suggest you stockpile as it is only going to get more expensive when they have to pay the delivery drivers £50 an hour... Chap in Wales on the news said that his little town has run dry of petrol, despite they can see the refinery not a mile away!
