A someone who can do nothing about it, who respects the choice of those who voted with themselves in mind and not someone who had left the country 15 years before, and who has therefore been ambivalent on the subject I never initiate discussions on the subject and if a 3rd party does I do what I always have done on political subjects and don't engage, part of my upbringing that I do not wish to change.
Maybe 2 or 3 French people have mentioned Brexit to me, it has never gone any further so I would have no idea of the general perception of the French as a whole or individually and it really does not bother me what they might think.
And exactly the same can be said for all of the time I have spent in the UK in the last 7 years, maybe more than 3 people may have mentioned it but it would be less than could be counted on both hands, I couldn't how people there feel because in general they are not obsessed about it like they are with reality TV, their next car, next holiday etc.
They were all moaning about all of the inflationary rising prices just as in France but not blaming it on Brexit, they are well aware that its happening in every country.

Well I have to say when we go back to the UK we meet up with both of our families, friends from West Sussex, Surrey and West London and to be honest they mostly all wanted to talk about how they felt about Brexit and not instigated by my wife, or myself. Yes of course most if not all countries are suffering and talking about prices rising, some making the power and fuel companies a very nice profit but that's another subject.

We've been back to the UK several times in the last year to see family etc and no talks about Brexit anymore, whilst people do discuss the increased cost of food and energy most blame the war in Ukraine and the pandemic, Brexit is rarely considered as a major factor which I put down to ignorance.
After the initial result and leading up to the beginning of 2020 we did get questions from our neighbours and French friends as to how we will be affected but to be honest the majority either didn't understand what it meant or just weren't interested as it didn't change their lives one bit.

I think that it is debatable whether the ignorance is simply pure ignorance, or years, if not decades of being subject to a skewed media coverage owned by those with axes to grind and immense fortunes to build and maintain. This could only be done by taking trade unionism out of the equation. It may be interesting to see if there is any correlation with political events and things like the printers strike at Wapping the demise of The News of The World, the editors of The Sunday Times and those at the top of the tree at the BBC.

I think the average uneducated Brit doesn't care about Brexit or politics, so long as the TV works, they can fly to their holidsys and macdonalds stays open.

I tend to agree with your brief analysis but I doubt it has much to do with education. There are a lot of seemingly intelligent people still supporting Boris and the rest of the racist corrupt blood suckers that are running the show over there. Not just the knuckle draggers.

I didn't say they supported Boris , they are just apathetic, those that run the show know this and just organise the governance to suit themselves. Those that have made a good profit on Brexit and will continue to make money on the results don't worry about the collateral damage.

‘ And they think if they repeat this mantra often enough, people will believe it.‘
I can’t quite think of the best fitting words for this.
Alternately to PRT’s views, rejoining the EU might mean that the majority benefit instead of the members of the 1% club.
