Following on from Johnny's earlier post about Mark we have now received news from a trusted source. So we are hugely saddened to say that Mark passed away on July 3 last year. Whilst some of us thought that this might be the case after such a long silence, it is still deeply upsetting to be given such awful news. Mark, with Johnny, created this forum for everyone to have a place to be - to fill a gap left after TNFF's closure. As Johnny said in his post, we will continue to run the forum which is what Mark would have wanted. www.libramemoria.com/defunts/andrew-mark/ead28a1186f24a77b48df5120f276e04

It has hit us very hard and we, at the team, are having huge difficulty in processing the information we have received. We so wanted to believe Mark would be coming back in his own time. It is the loss of such a talented, charismatic person at such a young age that is so awful.

Very sad news! My only connection with FFS was through his posts on the forum. His management style was clearly professional blended with a supportive human touch. I hope he was aware of the affection with which he was regarded by the membership as well as his team.

Very sad to hear this , although expected. Mark was a friend on a different forum, his life was not an easy one, but he was always cheerful .

That is so sad to hear that Mark had died nearly seven months ago. RIP Mark No great shock, but, this news brings tears to my eyes. It also begs the question what will become of TOFF ? I have seen other forums fold because the leading light died and took the keys / codes with him.

Mark gave us the capabilities to keep this forum going in his absence as we have done now for nearly a year, we plan on changing nothing and just keep doing what we have been doing, like Sue says, we will keep it going for as long as people here want it to.

I have just read this thread with increasing sadness. Mark (and Johnny) gave us all a new forum to gather on, at a time when the doors had closed for good at our previous gathering place. He ran the forum with humour and with a firm but soft hand on the rein. He was one of those rare people on a forum who we all felt we knew. He will surely be missed.

We the staff are all very sad at the latest news, but have been keeping the forum running in Mark's absence.
I just want to confirm what JonnnyD and Suein56 say, if you guys still want the forum we will keep it going.

Mark was quite a character and I never saw him as anything other than a true gentleman.
I am deeply saddened by this, not unexpected, news.
It's a little odd that someone you only ever "knew" online could leave such sadness by their passing.
Thanks for posting this news.
