The old beam was beyond sanding and staining. Remember to always keep the ground clear where you are working. I needed a 9m floor beam but not available from bricodepot and could not move one or lift one. Ended up buying two beams at 6m and two at 4m and bollted them together offset in place. Pictures next time we are at the house, the floor is now up and finished with zero bounce. I used one of the old oak wooden supports in the center to give it the extra support. Had to pull up the beams over the old floor before it was demolished, make holes in the stone walls pop it into the wall above the old beam, cut out the old beam and drop the new beam into place at the right height. Easy stuff I had cramp in the leg the night we finished.
