Who are you going to see this year in concert, in the theatre, the opera or where ever. I'll start with The Australian Pink Floyd Show in Poitiers in a week or so. I am not a great follower of tribute acts, but after first seeing these chappies perform in Morecambe around '93, I have been impressed enough by their performances to follow them since, and luckily they play France regularly. This year is the 50 anniversary of TDSOTM being released and the Aussie floyd will be playing the complete album chronologically.
Early March brings The Damned at Cabaret Sauvage in that posh Paris.
In mid June it will be the turn of The Who, playing in Nanterre with what could be their final tour.
July brings Jazz à Vienne with the likes of Norah Jones, Joe Bonamassa, Pat Metheny and Mavis Staple amongst others, Jazz................nice! As a treat from my holdings in the Accor group, free VIP tickets to see Björk at Bercy on September 8.
More will undoubtedly follow.
Where are you going?

The best group that I'd found here in 15 years sadly folded last year when the lead singer/guitarist hooked up with an american cabaret singer in Paris and dumped his co-musicians. What a waste! They played covers of 60's English and american classics to perfection, in some cases better than the originals. Soooo won't be schlepping around to their concerts any more. There'll still be plenty of open-air concerts through the summer, though. Some of the best I've ever seen are played on a stage on the River Lot on Wednesday evenings through July and August. Free but excellent. It's a shame that Garorock is so 'alternatif'. I haven't been since Indochine played, not being into rap But live in hope that the new organisers, Vivendi, will branch out a bit to include some mainstream names They did snaffle Muse one year.....who are playing Bordeaux at the end of June, so that's a possible.

We are currently in Portsmouth for a family wedding. Just found out Belinda Carlisle is playing Portsmouth Guildhall next Monday and have managed to book tickets. 😍

Hopefully we’ll be going to ‘Route du Rock’ in St Malo again this year. Some great bands last year especially Ty Segall whose set was excellent. Also the Jazz festival in St Cast. So many music festivals going on in the summer around here it’s difficult to choose….

OH is a big fan of Michael Bublé, so we are off to see him in Paris in March.

Oh well, it started well..................but then the tread muckers decided to post their supposed humour. You can't, in all honesty, be surprised, surely? They think they are great wits. But are only half qualified.

For no good reason; where is the humour in this trivial thread?

For no good reason; where is the humour in this trivial thread? Some of them contained 'bad' language, whilst I am no prude, foul language on a public forum may affect some members differently.......

As the person guilty of making the first joke my deleted post did not contain any profanity unless Elvis is a swear word.
I did not get to see what followed and I can understand that my reply would have been deleted amongst the other unpalatable ones but why leave another that accuses myself and others of being half witted from someone who only ever visits the forum to denigrate members?
