More difficult than several gallons of petrol? Far more difficult and dangerous, and diesel represents barely any risk at all, it needs a fire from other sources to be well advanced before it will itself burn. The fire services have special procedures for electric vehicles, that of containment and evecualtion of the area rather than being able to control and extinguish the fire.
Petrol needs vaporisation and an ignition source, an EV battery has everything it needs, overcharging or impact damage will cause a runaway fire.
The major causes of fires in scrapyards, (a place where they were always frequent using cutting torches) and recycling centres is now self combustion of lithium cells, again there are special procedures in place to mitigate the damage but as for stopping the cell from burning, forget it.
The first publicised warning shot was the loss of the freighter loaded with EV's.

In the UK all electric vehicles "should" have a green rectangle on the number plate, this is not to show they are driving a "green" car but to warn the emergency services as to what type of fire they could be dealing with.

1989
1967
A lot has changed, safety wise, since these accidents took place .
Oil should perhaps only be used in the countries where it is found?
But before we get rid of oil , there should be an acceptable alternative ?

That's in keeping with current trends When Gov taxes have rendered energy, personal transport, air, land and water unaffordable for the masses it'll be Fred Flintstone time. Yabadabadoo

In which case you are doubting, I have better things to do than prove to you what is needed to ignite petrol or diesel and less of the sarcasm like "facts" please. If you want to do your own searching regarding lithium cell fires in recycling facilities then you need to go down this wormhole, its in there somewhere as it is where I learned what precautions forward thinking recyclers in France are taking to protect both their livelyhoods and lives.
