I hope this year’s competition gives us plenty of high quality rugby and produces many exciting games. Just watching the lead up to Wales/ Ireland but I am already bored by the constant chat and interviews with old players. This introductory session should be limited to 15 minutes.

Agree totally on both points, commentators and ex players talking on the pitch while a male voice choir is actually singing behind them, 15 minutes chat then get on with it.

Ireland already showing why they are ranked No 1 in the world.

Ireland certainly confirmed their standing in the world rankings. They were dominant. I could not lose in the England/Scotland game though my wife is a firm England supporter. Deep down I am glad that Scotland won and that the game was hard fought and entertaining. Too many errors on both sides but quite exciting. Ireland against France next week will be a battle!

The game seems much more complicated than when I played it at school in the 1950's/60s.

Especially in the scrum. How the ref can tell which prop caused the turn-in beats me. I like the new 50/22 rule and protection to players in the air.
I think the most obvious difference to 50 years ago is the size of the players. Even the half backs are built like brick outhouses! Some of them anyway.
My father played stand-off, fly-half, No 10 - whatever you want to call it - and was considered big in his day at 5'11 and 11 stones. His mentor was the great Jackie Kyle who looks like a midget in photos together. If you're going to learn your trade in any position, you can't do better than having one of the all-time greats as a teacher.

I think Wales are in a terrible state with too many players in their twilight phase and not much sign of exceptional talent coming through. England should win easily but in the past they have shown, unsurprisingly, they dislike playing in Cardiff.

I suppose that they could have been up in Arms about it.

There is a very big issue about contracts and payments and it looks very much as if the Welsh team will be on strike unless Welsh RU can agree terms with the Welsh regions in the next 24 hours.

That's what I was wondering about - not the result

Near the end of the first half, I decided that there was less pain in repairing our paper shredder in the spare bedroom, away from any rugby. It was a good decision.
