I spoke to someone today who said he had a stent inserted through the wrist. It just seems a long way to work it through.

My husband had his two inserted via his groin, which was superseded by the wrist.

Well the pharmacy rang last week and said they have 3 vials of Novarapid insulin for me. But before then I had seen the diabetolog and she had changed my ordonnance to Humalog (same insulin different brand) as Humalog is supposed to be more available. The pharmacist still gave me the 3 vials of Novarapid.
On the other subject of heart problem. I had a Coronagraphy today (procedure whereby they stick a long catheter in your wrist and up to your heart. I had to be at the hospital at 06:30, but did not go into the operating theatre until 09:30. I was given a local anesthetic and some stuff to make me drowsy. But 30 minutes later I woke up and it had been completed, didn't feel a thing. The bad news is, afterwards they told me that I would not need stents but have bypasses surgery. so looks like a double or triple bypass surgery. I have an appointment next Wednesday with the surgeon to discuss what is going to happen. The cardiologist told me that, its because of my diabetes, that I would need bypasses rather than stents. I was out of the hospital by 15:30.

It's a pity that people associate it with being overweight, and therefore your fault. My husband never carried an ounce of fat, whilst I am well built as they would say. In both cases, we follow(ed) our family genetics. I wish you well. Good health is everything, which is why we must all fight to ensure good health services, no matter where we live.

Without wishing to cross against Sizewell's insulin plight, OH has had to wait 10 days for a couple of items on her prescription. The pharmacist blamed the departement for not carrying sufficient stock. It seems that there are some general shortages developing and without wishing to create panic buying, it might be an idea to renew your prescription meds a few days before you normally would.

The pharmacist blamed the departement for not carrying sufficient stock. Pharmaceutical stocks are not ordered from or maintained by the département where you live. They come from national wholesalers.

It seemed to me a strange thing to say, but the pharmacist was certainly blaming the departement.

Well that makes you correct, perhaps she is as well, my ex running partner who ran a pharmacie ordered from one big distributeur for all the prescribed stuff and others for the snake oil potions.
I will ask the Pharmacienne where I am now, maybe budgets are set regionally?
