That's great news. The doctor sounds like a good man.

I have been following this thread with growing dismay. We are not resident if France so, to a great extent, it does not affect us but we now realise how well off we are in Surrey. It is wonderful news that Aardvark has been rewarded for his perseverance and has found a doctor. Well done!

That is a great resolution, having contact by mobile phone and E-mail, I am jealous!!!
You didnt say but I am assuming that he has accepted you as patients, did he ask you to sign a form nominating him your médecin traitant? If not you should download two, fill them out and send them off or if you have any doubts give them to him (he may have to sign them anyway).
If you don't do this you will pay more for the consultations and I dont think the extra is remboursable.

Oh well done, A! Like pcpa says, you just need to notify your CPAM on the correct form, or get the doctor to do it for you online, so he's officially your médecin traitant. Sounds like you've got a good one there....

Update re: my quest to find a new doctor. Today a great weight was lifted from my shoulders. We decided to have one last try camping out in the car in front of the surgery our old pharmacist had suggested. Hour and a half waiting did the trick. In all, a great day. Brilliant news for both of you. Gold star for your perseverance .. and you have your just reward .. as long as he accepts you as his patients 😊

I forgot to ask about the medecin traitant thing so thanks everyone for mentioning it. I'll go online tomorrow and get the forms, etc. I think he will be OK with it, seemed an amenable sort of fellow.

You'll need to get him to sign the form anyway, but worth asking him whether he can complete the formalities online, while you're there 'Est ce que vous pourriez regulariser ça en ligne avec la CPAM, svp?' It would save you having to send off the form and if my experience is anything to go by, the 4 subsequent forms that were demanded because 'we never received it'. Despite them all being sent recorded delivery

Right about the "médecin traitant", my " new" docter forgot about filling in the form . It took me a while until I had got figured out why I wasn't getting reimbursed correctly. He can do it online. I have the form , filled in by his secretary , but she said online was enough and the form wasn't really needed but they did it anyway !

My new doctor did it online. I didn't have to do anything.
