Has anybody here had one? www.topgear.com/car-reviews/hyundai/bayonwe took one for a test drive yesterday as we are going to change the Ionique as the lease is due to expire. The car can not really be faulted as far a reliability go. but I am a bit uncertain about the technology in the Intuitive model that we are thinking about renewing the contract with.

We bought a Hyundai santa fe a years and a few months ago, not the same model but having covered over 40.000klms would buy one again. Good customer service cheap to run, comfortable and they come packed with extras from heated seats steering wheels bla bla bla. Not the most exciting car in the world to drive though. comfortable over long distances.

Regarded to exciting car to drive, at my age, and with a nervous oh, speed handling is not so much of a necessity.
I liked the Ionique but it was not the best car for transporting anything other than a medium amount of luggage in the boot and 4 or 5 people. I found the seating a bit low and the ride a bit hard compared to the Scenic that we had for years. The digital technology used to freak me out a bit with what I think are too many warning devices.
’ And all of the tedium too. Weird digital clutch takes some finesse‘
I can understand all of the tedium but didn’t feel anything about the digital clutch. I didn’t even realise that it had one.
The smaller size is a big plus as the Ionique left minimal spare room in the garage.

Ours is automatic so cannot comment on the clutch but everything is changing. I still find the car braking if it thinks you are getting too close to the car in front a bit scary. It can self park but we have not tried that either If you try to do an emergancy stop your hazards come on and I tried to take a low wall out while driving and the car stopped. Nothing like the good old days of no abs asr, sensors and cars that think they know better. The seats are bigger in our one but there is plenty of other good cars out there.

This was automatic also. For oh it is almost a necessity. IMO it almost makes driving too easy.

How often have you been in a car and the elderly driver has been over reving while trying to find the right gear and looking at you instead of the flippin road while moving forward. Automatic is a good thing.

I'm sure none of you peeps are short of experience how to drive a proper car. Yet you praise so much of these "new improved user experience" products. My worry is that they encourage people who shouldn't even be behind the wheel and when they get one they will just let it do its thing, expecting all the "safety enhancements" to keep them alive, rather than good skill and judgement.

Most people who should no longer drive or be on the roads drive these axims with twin exhausts that still sound like lawn mowers. Safety gadgets can help keep you safe. My car is rear whel drive which can still give you a fright if one is going to fast on a wet slippery bend, but fun all the rest of the time.
