Well, I just posted a polite question! The heading of this site says "All things French" Why would anyone feel the need to post information about events in the UK? Best wishes from Toulouse. Stick with us it's really interesting at times.

And it may sound a bit strange, but quite a lot that goes on in UK affects us here in France, either directly (like the exchange rate) or indirectly (like shortages in UK endured by friends and family). Comparisons of UK and France are often voiced here and discussed without any intention of offending anyone. Just as they are in real life.

They would be Roads Policing Unit vehicles as only they can take part in high speed pursuits and are controlled by an authorising officer at HQ.
As such it is an effective use of resources trained to do such work. In fact, most forces have reduced the traffic cop numbers dramatically.
