How does he go about selling her car? Wait until she visits family in the UK? You place an ad on LBC or similar or contact a garage looking to buy cars or pop it on the back of a trailer and take it back to the UK. You do not need a CT to sell a car to a garage or a pro Look carefully at the underlined text from your posting and hopefully you will then understand.
You do not need a CT to sell a car to a particulier but without one they cannot matriculate it and you leave yourself open to PV's and amendes that they may rack up, also they can start a procedure insisting that you pay for all the repairs needed for a CT, they will get nowhere, someone in Arras did it to her brother, the Police Municipale compromised by fining the guy €35 for selling without a CT which I realise contradicts the first line of this paragraph. I was speaking of the reality.

The Gendarmes used the car park of the hôtel during my absence with my permission, to pull over vehicles as they often do for speeders, this time it was a general vehicle and document check. When its for speeding once or twice a vehicle often a mobylette is so dangerous that they impound it awaiting collection by the fourrière.
Of the 40 vehicles that they pulled over last Saturday afternoon/evening how many do you think were being driven illegally? I'm not talking about a bald tyre or dodgy tail light but by someone off their face on drink or drugs or without a driving license, banned etc, how many do you think?
The answer was 8, thats 20%
6 were drink drivers one of which was a repeat offender, one driving without a license and one driving whilst banned.
5 of them had their permis withdrawn on the spot which means that one drunk driver was not completely trolleyed but the others were, they cant take away someones license that doesn't have one!!!
A shocking statistic which surprised even me.
Im suprised they shared the information with you.

You can sell a car in France or the UK to a garage or a car dealer with no CT and zero possibility of being sued.

No hearsay, just the law in France.
