Not keen on the Left supporting members of this forum trying to turn the BBC into a mouthpiece for their views and then dressing it up as a free speech issue.

Not so keen by right-wingers only wanting free speech when it suits their agenda… where was your outrage about impartiality when Alan Sugar tweeted about wanting to see Corbyn lose the election?

Wooly I don't want the BBC to be a mouthpiece for the left.
I do want them to demonstrate true impartiality - which at this point the abjectly are failing to do.
If GL's comments are so abhorrent, then provide a voice to balance the view. Do not stop the comment. That is what being impartial and even handed is about. Not just shouting right wing views - a bit like you dare I suggest.

Jackie, a BBC employee or pseudo employee should be politically neutral at all times. There are plenty of programmes for folk to sound off their views, such as Question Time.

Overpaid ex footballer calls out government. Fine, but not using his celebrity to do so. Had he stated a right wing view most of you would be screaming for him to be suspended or sacked. Find him a safe Labour seat so he can mouth off; maybe he could give Mr. J. Corbyn that well known independent candidate a run for his money. Dont pretend it is a free speech issue, that is rollocks. You really are a silly billy do you like Fiona Bruce she thinks men punching there wife is perfectly accepatble. She was defending Boris nominating his thug of a father that used to beat his wife she shut up someone on the bbc who said it was wrong. The current right wing liars running the country should be kicked out they control most of the media.

I don't know what your background is, but as an ex Director of HR I can tell you now that this is a very grey area which even HMRC admits is not always clear cut. I have spent many an hour with Tax Inspectors debating the subject. Many people worked as freelancers in the past who subsequently were believed to be employees. Let's face it, many MPs do 'private' work which has a specific time and place element yet they still claim to be freelancers. Dangerous ground. But despite all this I utterly fail to see how this disqualifies anyone from having the right to free speech. Give up, you're way off the mark. Muddy the water as much as you want. I can see clearly ......... music, cut .........

Not keen on the Left supporting members of this forum trying to turn the BBC into a mouthpiece for their views and then dressing it up as a free speech issue. I hope that's not directed at me (but i suspect it is) ? So far in my life I have voted Labour, Lib Dems, Liberals and Greens, I vote for parties that have something to offer me, I have never voted Tory or Far Right Tory, can you work out why? I don't vote for a party for life which has nothing to offer. Or is everyone who doesn't vote Tory a 'Leftie' in your books?

Oops. Just realised I might be outgunned by woolybanana's partner? I seem to recall she/he was sufficiently knowledgeable to allow them to be officially resident, without having to declare or pay tax like the rest of us plebs. So maybe I'll have to bow to greater knowledge........

Was it not you? If I have the wrong person then I apologise. Someone on this forum recognises the description.

Just realised it was someone called Grumpyish. Other members may remember the name. Sincere apologies for the error. I may not agree with you, but I know when I'm wrong,

No problem mt.
By the way, I see that Jeremy Corbyn has demanded that GL be reinstated; this think proves my point and definitely seals GL’s fate.
