Was it not you? If I have the wrong person then I apologise. Someone on this forum recognises the description. I think WB was Timoth on the old forum?

I am sitting next to my partner who is still looking a little bemused!😵💫 And she does pay her taxes, down to the last groat. I bet Loiseau's pleased about being called prey, too

EDIT this is what the BBC said about Andrew Neil's multiple indiscretions.
In a reply, a BBC spokesperson had written: ‘Andrew is a freelancer and his Twitter account is a personal one – the BBC is not responsible for its content.’
It continued: ‘When carrying out his responsibilities for the BBC, he always adheres to the same rules of impartiality as all other presenters.’

The bbc is out of control as I am sometimes but no one listens to me anyway. Good result for the inglish today playing France

I didn't enjoy Match of the day last night, loved no pundits but missed the commentary while the matches were playing. When Jimmy Hill did it back in the day, it was just football and not the ego stroking love the sound of my own voice, in jokes lad's club.
I think the BBC is finished, if the top presenters are allowed to be freelance for tax purposes how can the BBC have any control in future. I do like most of the BBC content but I can't see how they can recover from this and save me the license fee and allow me to spend my money where I choose.

Well done BBC. Dumping GL seems to have alienated half the population - - if they don't show the Attenborough programme tonight they upset the other half.

Jackie, a BBC employee or pseudo employee should be politically neutral at all times. There are plenty of programmes for folk to sound off their views, such as Question Time. REALLY !? How much further do your facistic views extend ? Anyone working for the government ? Or Local Authorities, NHS, Armed Forces ? Bin men? Maybe just legislate that only card carrying Tories can extol their views in public. Or invent a special salute to show how much you support them. I don't generally comment here but this ridiculous comment was beyond the pale and shows exactly why Lineker is right to warn of the language used by governments and people can fall down the rabbit hole of suppressing rights.

Not keen on the Left supporting members of this forum trying to turn the BBC into a mouthpiece for their views and then dressing it up as a free speech issue. I hope that's not directed at me (but i suspect it is) ? So far in my life I have voted Labour, Lib Dems, Liberals and Greens, I vote for parties that have something to offer me, I have never voted Tory or Far Right Tory, can you work out why? I don't vote for a party for life which has nothing to offer. Or is everyone who doesn't vote Tory a 'Leftie' in your books? Agree Johnny.
Because someone agrees or disagrees with someone else does not point to their political affiliation.
My dad was a fervant Labour voter. After I became a Police Officer the then tory government were strong supporters of the Police and got my vote (which really made my dad mad at me!).
After my 30 years of Police service I found that the modern Tories no longer have my values (although I did note that the LibDems kept them in check during the coalition government). Unfortunately I am no longer able to vote in the UK, even though they take taxes from my Police pension, but if I could I would certainly not vote Tory at the current time (and my dad is probably dancing in heaven at that). I am a centerist and my vote would go to where I believed it would be best.
I would be very upset if anyone thought I was a 'leftie'!
