Paradise with no water shortages in the Cantal We took the old windows out of this building. You can enlarge the pictures if your logged in. This one had a horrible canopy over the barn dormas that were used as bedrooms and had wooden doors. The old windows were a perfect fit and improve the building in my opinion.

Great improvement. How lucky the window was a perfect fit! The canopy thing was quite weird. Is that a river running by?

Nice job, is that poteau EDF or France Telecom?
If the latter then you can probably safely remove it, I got rid of the horrible cable dangling across the front of my building today, fibre optique is on its way and fewer & fewer people are using a landline now.

Edf but it has a telephone line as well.

It was a watermill, the water used to run through the building it still has the stone wheel things. None of the windows in the building were the same size so it was easy to get a couple to fit.

Your projects are impressive! Do you own that stretch of the river? The view and the inevitable sound of the rushing water must be a great selling point.

We do not own the river but have to pay for for clearing anything in our section which is quite long. The sound of the water is wonderful from anywhere in the house. It will be our home one day, it was bought back in 2014.

‘ The old windows were a perfect fit and improve the building in my opinion.‘
I take it that is meant aesthetically as opposed as in the questionable use of resources and energy savings?

I get the feeling that Mysty & Co. have an understanding of both.
What bites my backside is those who choose horrid white plastic windows because they are cheap, over wooden ones made to a style in keeping with the originals in an old stone building.

And very jealous in the nicest possible way, make sure you give up all the other stuff in good time not only to achieve the swansong but also to enjoy the journey.
