Panel the bottom part of your walls ( I assume you are talking about pointed inside walls) and put your electrics in the panels , or run skirting boards with electrics . That is what many do and it makes a great feature in my eyes, you still have the exposed stone but some panelling the colour of which can be changed to suit future decorations. Unfortunately I think Johnny was fixated on having a steel metalclad sockets with galvanised conduit look, hopefully the difficulties will make him rethink that decision.

Thank you all for your suggestions, not fixated on anything really, I'll do whatever is easiest and looks good these days.........Slightly off topic, I remember having a discussion about cable or pre filled gaine, not sure if it was this forum or the old one, I cant find anything in searches here, what are the benefits of each, cable seems cheaper and thinner overall even with 2.5 mm conductors.

The Normes, not that you have to be abiding by them, allow for conductors to be replaced without demolition or destroying decoration, therefore cable is permitted where it is accessible or visitable meaning you can grab both ends to pull a new section through so for cables buried in walls they should be in gaine.
In practice with stonework the gaine is too large and unweildy to use.

I would be surprised if double insulated cable was cheaper than gaine with conductors but everything is a silly price now, it's the one thing that I hadn't bargained for.

It doesn't say its a promo but it might be, just wonder if I should get the gaine or the cable at that price or 50 M of both

I wish I could tell you but whilst I have been keeping a keen eye on gaine préfilée prices and R02V in the larger sections I have not done so for the 1.5 & 2.5mm 3 core flexible cables because I still have plenty in stock. What I will say is to look at the online prices of Bricodepot, Leroy Merlin and one or two others like Bricomarché, M. Bricolage, Bricocash etc & if what you are considering is significantly less than all of them then it's probably worth buying, then you too can see it appear for much less the next week It used to be that Bricodepot was always the reference for the lowest prices but not any more, 2.5mm2 gaine préfilée and internal doors are both significantly cheaper at Leroy Merlin which I did not expect, these are the permanent prices not promo ones.

I would try cutting a couple of backbox holes and a couple of chases for cables once you are tooled up, if you find its doable then you should buy the cable as it will need much smaller chases and can be run in the mortar joins.
If you end up dry lining or panelling then you must buy the gaine.
Cable will always get used somewhere in the future be it shed, garage, loft etc, gaine not so much.

In November in Bricodepot I paid 55€30 for R2V 3G2.5mm² 50M
1.5mm² was 38€35 for 50M

After closing the company we no longer have it, but our carroteuse and support used to laugh at such materiel. It would put a 350mm hole through a 900mm granite wall in well under half an hour. If required you can always hire a carroteuse from BLS, Kiloutou or similar. I would suggest a water cooled model.
