Good idea Norfolk because some guys are reluctant to talk about these things, and feelings in general. Yes mangetout, many men are reluctant to talk about such things which is rather silly not to mention risky when the dangers are so great. Women generally both French and British in my experience are very open about ladies problems. The big exception in my case was my late missus who failed to mention bowel problems until it was too late. You see, she didn’t want to inconvenience anyone ! My middle brother was diagnosed with testicular cancer in about 1970 when he was only 24. He got it sorted very quickly with the removal of one testicle. Fifty three years on he is as fit as a fiddle enjoying his wife’s company plus three children and six grandchildren. We, the family were ‘lucky’ to have experienced this all those years ago as it set us up to accept such things and deal with them head-on.

Sadly there are a lot of people like your dear wife, although I get the impression more men are like that than women. I dearly wish men would talk about their problems, no matter what they are. It would save a lot of lives, and dare I say marriages.

I think it is an "English thing " stiff upper lip and all that, my wife and I discuss everything and anything. She reads a lot( and informs me ) about the complaining women on womens facebook sites , that have very little in common or contact with their husbands ( or OH as they call them )

Thats not very inclusive, people create many more than that.

I met one on the Nam Mae Kok bridge at Kanchanaburi.
I met other blokes in Bangkok with interesting names. Jonny Som Suk comes to mind. I am not sure about the spelling on that.
