Fortnight - anagram of 'torn' (though there's no indicator for an anagram) inside 'fight' = 'a scrap'. Torn up indicated a change of order of the letters of torn. Personally, I would have written something like, "torn to shreds".

Correct FFS. Cardinal = a shade of red. Indicates = points. Four ways to go = north, south, east and west which are the cardinal points.

That's correct, Veem, piles (pronounced "peel") is French for batteries and piles, as we pronounce it, are a real pain in the arse, speaking as one who suffers from them.
