Well at that price you had a real bargain. My current rate is about three times that figure and that is why I thought your cost would also be as high. I employ someone privately and he is local and is a perfectionist when it comes to gardening. I am lucky to keep him as the job is to mow my “lawns” which by his standards are just rough grass and mole hills.

I assume he would not want anyone else involved in our agreement. Yes, it is probably illegal but I need him more than he needs me. He was very reluctant to take on my generous offer and I will not rock the boat. As an example of his character, the banks of the roadside ditch running the length of his home and garden is strimmed and pampered as if it was a golf green. Thanks for the suggestion.
