I've had cats my whole life. I have never known one to get into a pot to pee or defecate. As for pee corner, I suspect you've got some competing males who are spraying.

Perversely, planting more trees will attract more wild boar. If I was rich I would just concrete the whole thing, dealing with moles, cats, and boar in one fell swoop, but I do like the idea of creating a habitat for the birds and pollinating insects. Yes, me too. I have wild boar in the woodland behind my house, fortunately a fence separates me from them.

I use the ride on mower to flatten the mole hills but I do not get hardly any at the moment (famous last words), it might be because I soaked a lot of cheap frankfurter type sausages in this product- www.javel-bec.com/produit/j-net-expert/I made slivers of frankfurters which hopefully resemble worms and soak them in a large glass jar, I did this a few years ago and still have a few left in the jar, when I found a mole hill I put a metal spike in it to make a hole and drop a couple of frankfurters in, I have not found a dead one, I think they just don't like them in their runs. The product is brilliant for other jobs, it will remove green moss off exterior woodwork and clears algae and lichen from slabs and pathways. For those jobs I mix 2.5l of the product with 2.5l of water plus a large slug of washing up liquid in the garden sprayer, works best in direct sunlight. It is about €7 for 5l and found in large supermarkets in the bleach section.

I'm not allowed to comment on moles . Why not? Everyone's entitled to their point of view, or should be! Psst. He used to work at GCHQ! Don't tell anyone.

Did you read the safety notice on this product ?

You do realise that it's just bleach with Eucalyptus don't you? More concentrated than the normal supplies but still just bleach. 9.6% vs normal 2.6% Of course precautions need to be taken when using it but then you should do the same with standard bleach at 2.6% - but familiarity and all that and none of us do.

It's the same javel as used by the cognoscenti to maintain their swimming pools €9.90 for 20l in Tridome at present. As for introducing bleach-soaked meat products into the garden.....words fail me!

It could only improve the edibility of frankfurters...

They make another product for pools and I really don't think 8 sliced up frankfurters buried 12 inches below the surface, spread over an acre of garden over a two year period is not ideal but the lack of mole hills is significant, so they have either moved on or severely reduced their activity, as I said I have not seen a dead one in two years and my mole trap count before then in the 20's over a five year period.

Whatever works for you.. I've always advocated the Détaupeur but I know some folks don't get on with it. Each to their own.....

The Molinator does a neat tidy job and leaves no evidence.

Continuing the 'every cloud has a silver lining' theme...I won't be needing to climb ladders or wield the fruit-picker for the peaches this year. The gusts of wind during one of the recent storms ripped half the main branches off the most bountiful tree. That'll teach me to be more rigorous when I thin the fruit
