Malnutrition in the UK is a form of ignorance. ( I think that was the basis of this discussion) Folk don't know or care what they eat because many have never been educated about food. You are what you eat , very old, very true. Any animal breeder knows this.

They've just had a head start It's noticeable round here this year at various events and fêtes that the McDo culture is starting to show amongst young French people, too. The power of advertising and peer pressure shouldn't be underestimated, either.

Several years ago I read there were about 1700 McD restos in France, one of the highest numbers outside the USA. I thought at the time considering France's reputation for good food it was hard to believe. It can't be true. Some time later I understood McD's success. They are open all day. You can eat when you want, not restricted by time of day, etc. No "Down tools lads, it's 12:00" required. If your stomach tells you it is hungry at 11 or 3 or 5 you can go in and get food.

Problem is people are shovelling this pap down their throats even when not hungry. Just greedy.

I suspect you dont go that often not that we go that often now other that for takaway coffee its not fast food it takes them ages to get anything ready even coffee

Probably a silly question but are you allowed to use water to mix concrete or have all builders stopped work. I have used bath water in the past and bubble bath does not affect the mix. edit Wrong thread

I have often picked up something nice to wear in the local supermarket and finding size 36 was never a problem. It is now. I find fewer tops, jeans etc in 36 and more and more clothing in sizes way up in the 40's. Looking at the women around here, they do seem to be becoming ........ can I say ....... rounder? Don't even get me started on men's bellies.
