He was one of those free running type chaps that do crazy things, I didn't catch his surname but it was Simon something, definitely not Zizou who was I think the one that the flame was passed to (my Daughter has told me this tonight)

Maybe but who does the figure represent in French ‘culture’ ? Ie. It wasn’t James Bond for example

It’s a character called Arno who is the main character of a video game called Unity from the Assassins Creed collection of games. The game is produced in Toronto and Bordeaux and is very popular. My son works with the French team on the games.

In and maybe before the 1950s, 1960s and up to about 1970 the certificate PMG was issued which then became the MPT certificate. Which body issued these certificates and to whom ?

PMG = PostMaster General which became the Minister (ry) of Post and Telecommunications and so the certificates were to do with radio communications.
You may recall the last PMG was the infamous John Stonehousr.
