Looks like a Vauxhall Viva .........My first car back in 1977 An insult !!! It is a Ford Escort MK1 TwinCam. Just under 1000 built with the Lotus TwinCam engine. They were the car to beat back in the late 60s early 70s. I had one of the first ones built 1968 and this one which was one of the last 1971 I bought as a 6oth Birthday present to myself. I found it in Spain, the car having been exported originally to Portugal.

If you were 60 in 1971, you're doing extremely well, curtis Hope I'm still as lively at 112

During the mid to late eighties I was, amongst other things, a Lakeland sheep farmer. Consequentially, I was also a member of a couple of MRT's. Every time we had a bit of snow there would be a stream of muppets who would drive up to the Lakes to test out their driving skills, or worse, just to show the kids the snow. Every year betwixt November and April we would get daily/nightly or twice daily and more, shouts to attend to people that had decided that the winter weather was of no consequence even though the conditions had been posted nationally for days on end. I got my 300 badge in well under four years. According to colleagues still in the lakes nothing has changed, as shown by recent news reports.

She did two series...Intervention/Jack The Bodiless/Diamond Mask/Magnificat and The Saga Of The Exiles. I prefer the first ones. They lack the humour of Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett but not bad to while away the winter and the transport arrangements would be right up your street

This battery business is so wrong. 20 years ago I brain stormed a design for personal transport. Lightweight pods with 20km range batteries to access powered monorails to destinations chosen as one does a satnav. Slot in your credit card and off you go. Pods link up when destinations are similar or on route. Sit back and read a book. No more potholes or roadworks. Are you a Julian May fan by any chance? Theresa’s sister ?
