When I was a teenager you would get bombarded by elderly folk saying we were good for nothing, spent to much time in front of the tele (only three channels and didn't start till 4 o'clock) I didn't get square eyes by the way. I had a teacher say that I would never amount to much because there was no national service now. Has anyone else any old folks insults from their younger days.

My French teacher telling me I'd never be able to speak French. I'd run rings round him now🤣
And slightly more relevant, always being told to take your coat off (inside wherever) or you won't feel the benefit....something I say a lot now 🤣🤣

(the coat one) My grand father used to say switch the light off when you leave the room where do you think electricity comes from out of the wall. Which I used to say yes to it comes out the wall.

I had a school teacher when I was probably seven or eight who wrote in my jotter in red that I was facetious if she could see me now. Teachers back then could spot talent. My mum had to tell me what it meant.

I can't remember much of what the older generation said.
I wasn't paying attention.
One thing I often heard in the later years at school. Get your hair cut! I used to wonder what the F it had to do with them.

I am somewhat ashamed that I still manage better in German than French.
