A sad day but on a lighter note about drummers -- John Lennon was asked if he thought that Ringo was the best drummer in the world -- be said he's not even the best drummer in the Beatles.

Can anyone explain to me why folk like Charlie keep on working until they die? He must be a multi-millionaire at least. Only asking!

Not for the money, of course. For him - a really skilful drummer - he loved what he did, and plainly millions of people continued to love the Stones.

Damn, damn, damn! It's a bit b***y inconsiderate...the Stones were supposed to be playing our local music festival next year Reckon that's off the agenda now. Keep on rockin', Charlie, wherever you are

Last week Steve Jordan had already been given the sticks to finish the US tour what with Charlies, now fatal, ill health.

Hmmm....he's only 64. Do you reckon he's got the experience and stamina to cut it?

Quelle coincidence. The last time I saw the Stones was 15 years ago today. I think it was their farewell tour. Jeez, Charlie was a pensioner even then.

He'd been with the Stones for as long as I've been alive! God, that makes me feel young.
