Pleasantly mild and unbelievably dry - apart from a 5 minute shower this morning.

What a beautiful day . We had 5 LPO visiters this morning , counting the birds on the property. 32 bales of hay arrived this afternoon , all put away by 21:00, ready for the Summer!

Confolens chip shop had to close on Wednesday and Thursday due to flooding. Today they reopen and as it's to be an evening warm enough to sit outside, we've booked our first table since last autumn. Their fish and chips are superb, so we're looking forward to going.

We had a lovely sunny start to the day but now the sky is clouding over - the forecast is for a few showers this pm and then more rain tomorrow. Ho hum ..

Overnight the oaks have all opened their leaf bud to give the first signs of being green.
It's a windy overcast morning, but we have clear skies and 25C coming today. Most importantly, it will be dry.

We were forecast 23C today and ‘ciel voilé’, just like yesterday, which was a very pleasant day. But no, there’s been cloud all day, although warm, probably at or close to 23C - but what a difference; yesterday everything seemed light and cheery but today felt a bit depressing when out and about; presumably tourists felt it too, as there were few in town.
My DIL and 12 year old granddaughter, who were visiting for a few days (left today), managed to have a very short swim in the Gardon river - very high after weeks of rain, and very cold; they’ve been doing wild water swimming in the rather lower level of the Thames, raising funds for local hospices.
It’s not often that we have a whole day of depressing cloud, but not only today, it’s forecast for the same tomorrow. It’s forecast to be full sunshine from Wednesday onwards and 24C. Sadly, I leave on Thursday, a bit of a flying visit.

Raining again .. Still it can keep raining whilst the man from the mairie comes to talk to the residents who have been affected by the strange system in place at present. Where the overspill from a local spring is directed to our chemin and causes almost instantaneous flooding in about 1/4 hour, such is the force of the water.

We have yesterday’s weather today, ‘ciel voilé’ and very pleasant it is. The forecast for today was for cloud all day. I sat on our balcony for lunch with 23C and put the store out as it was a bit too bright. Apparently it’s going to be several degrees cooler tomorrow - what a pity.

Although it has been warm today at 25C, it has been cloudy with an ever-increasing wind, so it hasn't felt as warm as 25C can do. We had quite a downpour yesterday in the evening and it looks as though we're in for more of the same tonight.

Mairie technical representative listened attentively to our woes, 'inondation pompiers' were there to add their expertise and 'the (brusque) man from Mairie' was finally induced to listen - so not a bad visit. There is going to be research into what can be done to avoid this happening again.
Weatherwise it cleared up this pm and even the sun shone for about 2 minutes. Rain and wind forcast for this evening/night.

We had booked to have lunch at one of our favourite restaurants today and were so pleased to see the management had opened up the huge terrace so we, along with many others, were able to eat outside in 26C. What a pleasure that was, but I doubt it will happen again before May with temperatures dropping to mid/low teens for quite a spell now.
