Hot, sunny and windy at the Cannes Film Festival. We are staying here, at the quiet end of town, until the stars and rubberneckers have gone home.

Thank you acr. Another loose end tied up. I feel so sorry for the likes of Ark if they are reliant on hay. To see it grow past it's best and then possibly get flattened and rot with the rain must be soul destroying. Yes I am undone, I am PE. most farms in my area (near Bourganeuf)have not cropped their hay yet, fields are all flattened and wet. One guy has even given up and mulched in with a flail mower. I can buy hay in for winter, but I need the field cleaned and growing grass again so that I can move the horses on to it for winter (where the field shelter is). More rain today so far and it doesn't look like it will clear up. You kept us all guessing! So sorry to read about the problems that rain has caused.

Yes, distinctly cold and damp.
We burnt a few logs yesterday and will be doing the same today

Came home from the vets this evening and like driving through fire hoses. Nearly home and the car started losing power. Had to push clutch in and give high revs to get forward. Fortunately nearly home so got back with a recovering cat inside. I wanted to start a new thread in Cars but I can't why not? Ford 1.0 l ecoboost if anyone has any idea, petrol.

Still cold and really very wet here. I feel sorry for the horses in the field next to us. They have been in a huddle under the trees every time I have been out yesterday and today. I too have given in and lit the fire. This is July isn't it. Perhaps I am in an altered reality with monsoons and suchlike.

Sunny and lovely, though with a north-westerly breeze, with a high of 25C forecast for Berkshire.
