BTW I forgot to mention that I visited my dentist yesterday for ongoing treatment. The last time I visited him I was accompanied by oh When I had to produce my Cart Vital I did so. My OH swore that she had put it back in its plastic pouch. Within two minutes of leaving the dentist we determined that is was not there and retraced our steps back to the dentist's surgery on making the assumption that it was there. We asked the receptionist to check. She assured un that it was not on the premisses. We thought that there was no alternative other than to get a new CV. I have been issued with a replacement. When I entered the dentists surgery yesterday the first thing that he said to me was ‘ I have got your card’
And they reckon that waste plastic is an issue.

Yesterday I had my second consultation with the dietician. The findings were not particularly encouraging. In that my weight was not significantly different at about 62.1 kg. Apparently, I had been talking some of my supplements at the wrong time. I was not supposed to drink the evaporated milk-like supplements after I had gone to bed but was supposed to take them with food. She wrote me out another diet sheet and suggested that I try some of these www.vidal.fr/parapharmacie/delical-nutra-cake-biscuit-framboise-100048.htmlwww.pharmashopi.com/delical-nutracake-biscuit-framboise-3sach135g-xml-25201_27566-223249.html I am having one as I am typing this message.. I do not know that they are anymore beneficial than a nice cake from a patisserie. IMO They certainly not very desirable but I will do my best to follow the regime as much as possible. Though, I find it a bit paradoxical that on the first visitI thought that the dietitian said that it was not a regime but a suggestion. It seems that the advice seems to be that it is a regime and must be followed more closely. I find it odd that my weight remains stable. I am pretty certain that I am much flabbier. Probably accountable by muscle tissue being much more dense tht fat.

I hope that it’s at least reasonably tasty, Nifty, and raspberry flavour sounds good; hopefully your weight will improve.
The physio, who I met for the first time yesterday for the first of a couple of appointments before my knee replacement op was recommending drinks called Nourishment, stocked by Asda, as I probably won’t feel like eating much post-op and they are apparently very nourishing.
Can’t think that I’ll take to them much, remembering feeding my husband Complan via straws after he had compacted wisdom teeth removed nearly 50 years ago. But maybe things have improved………….

gigi, I can’t think what to write. Except that today does not mark the end of the war in Europe, it has been superseded by the US invading Japanese-held Korea www.onthisday.com/events/september/8

Good news about Wilko from Wiki
Cancer[edit] Johnson was forced to cancel a show in November 2012 when he was rushed to hospital with an undisclosed ailment.[34] He was diagnosed in January 2013 with late stage pancreatic cancer, and elected not to receive any chemotherapy.[35][36][37]
On 25 January 2013, he gave an interview to John Wilson on the BBC Radio 4 arts programme Front Row. He discussed his cancer and said doctors had told him he had nine or ten months to live. He also talked about his "farewell tour" of the UK set for March and how his diagnosis had made him feel "vividly alive".[38] After the tour was over, he announced he would spend his final days recording a farewell album with the Who's lead singer Roger Daltrey.[39] The album, Going Back Home, was released in March 2014. "I thought that was going to be the last thing I ever did", he later told BBC News entertainment correspondent Colin Paterson in October 2014.[40]
However, Johnson did not have the more common adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. It was later discovered that he had a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumour (PanNET), a less aggressive and more treatable form of the disease.[41] Johnson underwent radical surgery to treat his illness, and the doctors were hopeful that his prognosis would be good.[42] At the Q Awards on 22 October 2014, Johnson accepted the "Icon Award" and announced that he was "cancer-free" having undergone "removal of his pancreas, spleen, part of his stomach, small and large intestines and the removal and reconstruction of blood vessels relating to the liver". Johnson said: "It was an 11-hour operation… This tumour weighed 3kg – that's the size of a baby! Anyway, they got it all. They cured me. It's so weird and so strange that it's kind of hard to come to terms with it in my mind. Now, I'm spending my time gradually coming to terms with the idea that my death is not imminent, that I am going to live on". He added that he was still recovering from the operation and when asked what he would do next replied: "I don't know really".[40]
My good news is that I have gained 1 kg +

I have not checked my weight lately but I am pretty sure that the latest course of treatment is working, but, I have thought that before. Mistakenly as it happened. I will weight till I get home in a few weeks and the truth will be revealed. A few weeks ago I discovered that a man that I have never met, but wish I had, had died. He was a fair bit younger than myself and was a professional researcher and might have found something that I had not. He offered to help me but I thought that his charges were > a tad on the high side, so I put him on the back burner. As it is now, I will never know what he might have uncovered for me. The moral of the tale is grasp the mettle while it is there. Apparently, he features somewhere in this series, ( Hmm! What would attract the Ozzies to this?) www.streamingdigitally.com/au/watch-digging-for-britain/I watched episode 3 last night and he was not there. Will look elsewhere as and when. May the force be with you. N

It was a surgeon Emmanuel Huget from Addenbrooke's Hospital that said he would try and fix the large tumour (as described)

RIP another great. I feel privileged to have seen him at a very small gig that he did in Plymoth in the late 1970s or mid 1980s.
His tumour was 3 kilograms. My surgeon told me that whatever I had that was removed was big at 50 or 60 mm. It probaly weighed < 10 g.

Talking of greats, this morning oh and I were sitting a few tables away from the Shell GB TDF team who are training in Spain. They were taking their coffee break. They looked a bit liked schoolboys, Their coach turned up later. I thought that he looked like a tough cookie and well adapted to life on the Costas.
Apparently, cycling is not as green as it looks.

Currently waiting to see my oncologist at Pau. Guess what. He is on holiday. Again. On the way here in the taxi just now I saw some of this www.connexionfrance.com/article/French-news/Why-French-village-and-town-road-signs-are-being-turned-upside-down#:~:text=The%20Connexion%20spoke%20to%20one,of%20the%20challenges%20they%20face. My appointment was switched to another doctor. To my huge relief he did not look like he was still at school and was able to deal with the questions that I asked him. The last scan that I had revealed that one of the spots on one of my lungs had increased in size and was a cause for concern. The current mission is to find out if it is benign or not. The most certain way is by more surgery. I am not keen to follow this route and hope that more can be determined by a PET scan which I can probably have in about three weeks. It looks like there may be no winter holidays for us this year.
