If you're going to take the piss at least spell the name of the company right. Anyway, I hope they don't run out as I'm looking forward to visiting one of their fine establishments very soon.

Doesn't someone called "Tim" own Spoons?
Do we have a famous member lurking in plain sight?

You've just changed the spelling!! Spookily though, as well as having a pint of two in Tim's taverns I've also booked an appointment at Specsavers.

All being well I'll be 25 miles from that pub next Friday, unfortunately I'm staying with my BIL and he hates Spoons so won't be able to check it out.

Loved Wacky Races as a kid.
My BIL has a lot of snobby hang-ups, disliking Spoons because of their clientele is one of his daftest, he would rather pay £1 more for the same pint of lager in the pub next door.

Your BIL dislikes Spoons, tim17, but is he a fork'n knife man otherwise?

Several years ago I was obliged to go to one of those pubs to meet up with some friends. I thought it was brash, noisy etc. Snobby? Yes if you like, but it's not an atmosphere that I like to be in. I don't really like pubs.

Your BIL dislikes Spoons, tim17 , but is he a fork'n knife man otherwise? He has got delusions of grandeur without the wallet to match so has to borrow up to the max all the time. Will only buy German cars, will only wear designer clothes etc, has to have several holidays a year and right now is in Corfu because the kids have got extra days off school before term starts on Monday. Unfortunately as a youngster and into his twenties he mixed with wealthy people and thought he had to compete, that has continued through a gambling habit, bankruptcy, divorce and now second marriage. In his mind he's above the people that frequent Spoons which includes his parents yet is too thick to see his vocal rubbishing of the pubs is a sleight on them and us. As to being a 'fork'n knife man', I've no idea what that means.
