Yes, I have to say that is very funny - unless you own the cat! I don't think anyone owns a cat. OK. Unless you own the litter box then and the house it's in.

Old age can be a pain .. for cats and humans. Our last old girl had a super-large litter tray but she still managed to positon herself in the tray but the wee ended up on the (old) folded up towel which acted as wee-catcher.

My cat - super-confident in every other way - would not use a tray with a cover on it. (He also didn't like the tray out in the laundry-room, because - I think - he could hear the garage door making a little noise.)
Actually, if it's a pee, he prefers to stand with his front paws on the edge of the tray. I know because he's quite happy to do it while I watch.

Hopefully our new kitten when he arrives next week will be litter trained. I'm aware that cats can spray scent or urinate if they are not happy. He will spend time away from our dogs in our bedroom at first so I will have to be alert. I've also always had cats, and love them, even though we have 2 dogs.
Fantastic yours is now using the tray.

Would it be worth trying a bigger tray? Keeping the lid off? Is this a regular occurrence, do you know? She looks like she's in good shape.

An indoor sandpit, perhaps?
