We are watching it but I suspect that other military veterans will also be grinding their teeth over the glaring misrepresentations of military life.
I'm pretty sure submariners are also perplexed. Nevertheless, it's good fun and watching Suranne Jones is never an effort.

I've been watching, and enjoying. If any of it is true as life on a submarine I would hate it, too claustrophic for me and I actually felt sick when the torpedo hole starting filling up with water.

Concurrently, there is a documentary about life on a UK submarine on another channel. So far it seems a bit contrived with 'emergency' incidents over a few days that would probably happen over much longer period in real lfe - or one would hope so..

Last night's episode was even more bizarre. CO 2 leakage forcing BA use and the toilets blocked so all seven were shut down. Nearly made sh*tbag become a fact of life. They showed the main outlet pipe for the toilet being inspected with camera and the total blockage caused by limescale. This is a Royal Navy vessel that's just left its home port after several weeks alongside!

it is a good watch and makes cycling time at the gym go much quicker. However - the quirks aside (RAF SAR helicpoter would never get near an RN boat, MI5 does not get involved in USA antics worldwide etc) - the whole thing does make me want to go back to CND days and join the vote for a nuclear free UK ! I am only finished E3, so no doubt plenty more quirks down the road I guess...!
