Good old France, we couldn't pull our collective fingers out to get all the cards out in time, so we'll just put back the date by which they are required. 👍

Didn't mean to give your post a thumbs up. Quite the opposite in fact, but couldn't see a quick way to undo it.

That extension means that we have had to extend the deadline for holding the cards as well.

Yet again, France bending over backwards to accommodate the Brits living in their country. I'm pretty sure the UK won't be doing the same thing for Europeans living in the UK, though I could be wrong.

I think therefore that your comment is slightly unfair.

To be honest I should have guessed. Your post was so unlike your usual ones. 😀😀

There were more than 10000 applications still to process as at the beginning of the month so the authorities had little choice but to extend the deadline, our eldest son in Bordeaux hasn't even had a rdv yet and he applied in January.

A bit like the island off France, who, with years of notice, cannot even build the buildings in time to house the extra customs people needed, so they just extend non-checking of goods until July next year, yes? Oh, but hang on, what do I hear? The contractors cannot get fuel for their machines? and what is that - they have no one to do the work because they were told to eff off out of the country? And more - they cannot get cement products in time because of some enterprise called Lafarge pretty well owns the cement market and do not seem to care? Shurely not

I think the French government have realised that the majority of the WISE* living in France didn't ask for or vote for Brexit, so shouldn't be punished for it.
*Welsh, Irish, Scottish, English - saves giving an unintended slight to those who don't consider themselves British.

Why would a country even consider punishing non native residents for a democratic decision taken by their country of birth, be they majority or minority?

I agree - a question that is being asked by many told to leave their home made on an island off France.

Why would a country even consider punishing non native residents for a democratic decision taken by their country of birth, be they majority or minority? I suppose it depends on whether or not that country embraces civil and human rights.
