There is the potential problem of damp/mildew, etc affecting the building, incl. doors/frames/etc and contents if it is left unheated for too long. Despite the expense I now leave electric heaters on hors gel so the house doesn't get too cold. I do drain my water pipes. Even so, even with internally insulated stone walls, it can take several days for the house to heat up on my return.
My English house insurer requires heating at 14.5C if I want to be covered for water damage.
