This is the "new" 14 plant aeroponic tray..
5 cilantro (back row) 2 basil and 2 lettuce (middle row) 5 lettuce (front row)
10 liters of nutrient solution, 5w pump and 2 - 6500K LED 60cm tubes (forgot to add - these are 9 watts a piece)
pump is run about 20 minutes an hour ( it is cool in the house) and lights are on 18 hours
I have some mint rooting - 2 netpots and will replace 1 basil and 1 lettuce. Just to experiment if they are compatible.. Lettuce and basil are good at 6 PH but mint likes 6,5 PH. We will see..

Ground still a bit on the wet side to do any work. At least that what I am using as an excuse. Weather looking a bit brighter today.

Had a call from the local farmer. He's taking down a fully grown Ash and did I want it? Well, does the Pope shit in the woods? Yes please.
So off I went to the yard to cut it into manageable bits so it could be brought home for final cutting and splitting. At least a winter's worth of fuel for the stove. Lovely Jubbly.
Until I got there and found that my chainsaw was dead. No amount of coaxing, kicking or swearing would awaken it. Bastard thing.
However, Barry, for it is he, loaded up the huge chunks of Ash and deposited them on our front lawn. What a kind chap.
Local machinery shop now has my chainsaw for repair/servicing/sharpening but Mrs FU2 is giving me grief about the state of the front garden. I offered her a handsaw but she declined.
Hopefully the saw comes back soon. It'll take me a week to cut, split and stack. Cheaper than a gym membership.

First day out in the good weather,I decided to start with cutting some kindling and the crash on with weeding. Tidied up some pots and a bit of the yard.. Stopped for today a bit puggled, going to take me a week or two to be a bit fitter. Might have a look at planting some veg later in the week. Hope everyone who can will have a we potter in the garden. Those who are unable to garden for now, I whisk you a speedy return to good health.

We've been in the garden mostly repotting.
Bought some herbs for our border, some almost dead strawberry 🍓 plants from aldi, now looking very good. Is it the right time to plant garlic? If so what care do they need. Also, lettuce... the cut and grow back types. What names are they please?

Garlic is usually planted in the fall. I have not grown it here as yet but a friend close by planted out at the end of the year. Definitely growing to have a bash this autumn.

Started cutting the first asparagus, pricking out seedlings, sown the last of the seeds, cut the grass at weekend cutting again today.

Well to-the fore in the garden spectrum. Lie back and watch things grow. Including the weeds. I will be a few weeks in the garden .

The old wives' tale is that garlic should be planted on the shortest day of the year so whether then or the autumn, now is certainly too late.

some almost dead strawberry 🍓 plants from aldi, now looking very good. Ditto from Lidl! Not yet planted so mustn't forget to water them. There are a few small beds in my new garden and I had in mind one of them for produce but found out today there's only a couple of inches of soil then it's concrete.
