"Apparently" - have you got a source for that, eddie, or are you just glomming together any and all bad press you might have read? And it's 'plural'. Here's one for you; 'impacts.townhouse.then' given as the scene of a mountain incident in the Lake District. The actual correct reference was 'impact.townhouse.then'. If you want examples of other errors, just ask! That is just a bad algorithm.. Find something else if you cannot put in proper english or the "coders" version of english..

If the search and rescue team confused Saskatchewan with Cumbria, then they're not a great search and rescue team.

What's the point, when you can already get a GPS location to seven decimal places on Google Maps?

Of course it was realised the reference was to Cumbria not Saskatchewan, but it highlights the problem of no matter how good an app is, human error will always creep in at some time or other. Having spent over 40 years involved with rescue services, I've seen it occur with Grid References, Lat & Long references, Mobile Phone Locator references, and Personal Locator Beacons. Don't try and teach your granny how to suck eggs!

I have also seen on Twitter that as soon as one criticises their system, they take a severely aggressive approach with threats of lawyers etc so that to me implies they know of it’s ‘issues’
I am happy to stick to grid references thanks…..a lot of the rescue services have done the same I think……

Can anyone point to the French version please. I am having problems with deliveries at the moment with drivers finding the right street name, the right post code but not the right village - only 15km out!

How you communicate the words to the delivery drivers is another kettle of fish if they don't have the application. On the other hand, most have a smartphone, I imagine, so if you have the three French words for your address, they can open the site on their phone and type in the three words in order to find it.

Thanks FFS but it keeps reverting to English Possibly browser settings? I just searched my address on the French version and got the words in French, so if you want to PM me your address I'll find your words.

Thanks FFS but it keeps reverting to English Go into settings in the app, select language and add French as second language. Then the app will give you the three words in English and French.
