Does any one else get blown away by the magnificence of the full moons here in France? Not something I ever noticed in UK, as light pollution and limited horizons put paid to it, but it's never lost it's charm here. The other weirdness is the effect on quality of sleep. Does anyone else have trouble sleeping during the few nights before, during and after? Several French friends swear that it's impossible 'dormir bien à la pleine lune'. Et vous?

I love the moons here, as you say they are without light pollution so usually spectacular.
I'm not sure about the sleep theory. I don't sleep well at the best of times.
Strangely the night before last I had a strange thing happen. I remember having a weird dream, and had what I think was a panic attack. I couldn't breathe and felt very scared.
Maybe it was the impending full moon?

I'm convinced that the moon does have an effect on sleep patterns, although it could be something as simple as increased light levels in the bedroom. Don't get me going on weird dreams, MOTM2 Panic attacks are not funny, though. Can only suggest put the light on, deep breathing, stroke a cat....

Lunatic a kind of insanity supposedly dependent on the phases of the moon

Yes I do find the moons here magnificent .. possibly, as you say, because we have a disengaged view in France .. much more so than we did in the UK.

Interesting to hear about the "sleep" issue. Was there a full moon last night? I have been having trouble sleeping over the last two or three days. Not normally a problem as I get to bed knackered most days.

what is the difference between a Member and a Non-gamer ? A non-gamer doesn't see the word games in the list of recent posts .. some people find it annoying that the 'games' posts clog up the page.

Driving to work at 5:40 this morning I could have turned off my headlights and driven by moonlight - I didn't, though, not this time.
