I don't think I have told you this yet..Neil and I finally got French Nationality on 07/10/2021. All in all about 2 years from when we first started collecting all the paperwork and 18 months since our dossiers were accepted in Bordeaux. Now to get our ID cards. I am already on the electoral register.

Well done Linda - no mean feat from what I gather. I assume you had no emotional problem 'letting go' of your UK citizenship?

Congratulations! Welcome to the club Just for info...you can go anywhere equipped with a fingerprinting machine for your ID cards and/or passports. There's quite a difference in wait times for a RDV. Marmande was 6 months, Miramont 3 months and Duras 2 weeks.

As far as I know you can be British and French at the same time .. unless smthg has changed recently. It's Germany (amongst others) who won't permit dual nationality (AFAIAA).

Yes you can hold dual nationality - or triple, as our grandson does

Good to hear, Linda, and good to see you back here again.
I'd love to go for it, but I've no idea where to get either of my parents' birth certificates.

If it was only that simple, but thanks for the link. Mother born in NZ and father in UK, former died in the UK, the latter in Thailand.

That sounds rather tricky for providing proof, FFS.
