The previous postings were all in July 2021. Our tree has suddenly burst into flower - is this a bit earlier than usual?

We don’t have ant silk trees any more after living with them for over ten years. This might seem a bit of a shame but there is a huge up-side. If one had any interest in keeping one’s garden looking neat they require an inordinate amount of work. Opposite our apartment there are two silk trees. They had a very sever pruning last year. This year they have not come into flower at all. Yesterday evening I went for a walk around our neighbourhood. There are absolutely dozens of them and they looked magnificent as did the ‘mares tail, cloud formations and was overwhelmed by the beauty and complexity of everything.

What inordinate amount of work are you talking about? Our tree stands in the garden and we don't have to do anything with it.

Mine's flowering too. Better than in previous years as I took a saw to all the dead branches. It's never quite as magnificent as the ones in a neighbouring town on sandy soil, though.

@ ajm Picking up leaves and fallen twigs and branches to facilitate the use of a mower, pricking out baby saplings from a gravel drive, lawn and veg plot, in fact everywhere that one may not particularly want them.
I suppose that size and location are factors.

Ours have been in flower for two days now and fortunately the rain doesn't seem to have damaged them. It is indeed very early to see the flowers.

We don’t have ant silk trees any more after living with them for over ten years. I don't have one any more, having moved house. I loved seeing it in flower each year after months wondering if it was still alive. I haven't seen any silk trees in flower so far this year. They are magnificent and I miss mine.

I used to have a hammock beneath out silk tree. All very idyllic. …..
Until the day that the string that was suspending the wind-chimes on one of the tree’s boughs broke and the chimes fell on my face.
