1) When do the new rules on tests come into force? 2) Do I have to pre-book a PCR test as before to be able to fillin the PLF or will it be done at the point of entry? 3) If at the point of entry how will the ferry ports cope? 4) If I do th the test at my destination how am I supposed to post the test back if I have to self-isolate? 5) If I have already booked a LFT will I get a refund? I'm sure there are more questions that the wonderful Bojo has not thought about. I feel better now!!

It is now being stated that the 4am Tuesday start time is not yet definite and requires agreement between the 4 nations before implementation timescale can be published.

As exile says the exact date/time of implementation still being discussed… As for the rest of it my current limited understanding is: You still need to have booked and paid for a “Day 2” test before boarding transport to the UK, You will still need to do a Passenger Locator Form before boarding transport. You won’t have to do the test at the point of entry, but you do have to isolate until you have a negative test result…so the assumption seems to be that you can drive from the ferry port/airport to the chosen address in the UK, isolate, do test by end of day 2, wait for result. There’s almost always been a caveat in the various post arrival isolation rules that you can leave isolation to have a test done/put a test in the post.
