If you turn it off when you go out what is the point of keeping the app? You're not going to catch it at home are you? The Delete button is somewhere in "settings". Do you really believe you can’t be infected at home? Turn that question around, rabbit, and tell us how you can catch it at home when you take the precautions Aarvark's outlined in his post above.

Do you really believe you can’t be infected at home? We do have friends who were incredibly upset when we declined their invitation to spend Christmas Day with them at their home - they thought we were telling them their home was dirty.... We tried very hard to explain that their home was lovely but we didn't want to socialise in an enclosed space. It didn't work
However, like Aardvark, we haven't had anyone across the threshold here for a very long time, so wherever we get it from, if we do end up getting it, it won't be at home....

If one takes the precautions that Aadvark has been taking, then very little chance. But the OP is about a youngster who is working in a fast food restaurant. We don't know his circumstances or with whom he shares his home.
