At last. I hope the journey goes without any further hitches. This is one trip to France you'll be glad to put behind you.

One hopes you might be in the air now, Gigi, sampling the delights of champagne, caviar and nut roasts! Best of, dear. Remember, Allah is watching over you!

I hope you both got a good night's sleep after the awful time you've been through. I daresay it must feel lovely to be back. Time to get a Waitrose order in!

All went very well yesterday, thank you, all our online ‘paperwork’ went through with no problems and we were home by late afternoon. The doctor monitored my husband on the plane, gave him oxygen as his blood oxygen dropped quite a bit. The taxi was waiting and we were soon home, where the doctor gave my husband a good check up before leaving us with our son, who has now returned to the south coast.
The dr rang our GP practice from the taxi, found that a nurse was due to visit my husband at home today, following my husband filling in the e-consult form, and he asked for a GP home visit as the case is complex. The nurse only phoned and after asking if he could manage to get into a car, said they were much too busy with worse cases than him, so he would be seen at the local Wokingham hospital on - wait for it: 21st February! Yes, stay with his catheter until then with no support at all. We’ll go privately, though Christmas and NY will involve waiting longer.
Paramedics from the practice do the home visits, and she was very thorough, has arranged for my husband to see a GP at the practice next Thursday to start things off. We’re both exhausted, despite sleeping pretty well last night. I’ve lost 2.5 kilos too.
The doctor remarked that we’re fiercely independent, which very likely keeps us young but we must take his advice and grab any help offered.
Our ‘day 2’ tests arrived late but are back in the post - fingers crossed for negative results, but after PCR tests last Thursday and on Monday, we’d be very unlucky to test positive.
I was shocked at the people in the row in front of us on the plane, Irish father, Italian mother and two lovely little boys, who live at Aix, on their way to watch the Liverpool v Newcastle match. They had been annoyed at not being told that they had to fill in PLFs, had to rapidly do them before they were allowed on the plane - she was having hysterics, with cabin staff trying to calm her.
How could anyone travel in a pandemic without finding out the rules in your own and the host country, especially with two little sweeties in tow? I told them they could easily have done research and to be sure to do for their return home, as rules are very fluid, the man wasn’t best pleased, said rules are a load of rubbish.

Orders are in for Sunday and 21st, our Christmas order, plenty in until Sunday as our son bought a lot of food for us round at M&S along with bubbles, chocs and plants

So pleased you are home safely. I hope your husband's ongoing treatment resolves his problems and makes him more comfortable very soon. Now take care of yourselves and try to relax.
