Do caravans (they are trailers) fall into this category? Glad we aren't shed draggers.

Historically a CPC (certificate of professional competence) was required for all vehicles carrying goods commercially above 3.5 tonnes.
This always included the trailer, so for example a transit van pulling a trailer would have fallen into this category.
The rules across the EU will change, so this will be 2.5 tonnes and above.
Nothing to do with Brexit, although it does mean that the reduced weight requirement is not going to apply in the UK.
It only applies if you are carrying goods for someone else or if you carrying goods which you intend to sell.
