I know it is the weekend and that the numbers might be skewed because of that but is does seem that the rapid rise in the numbers of cases in the Pas de Calais and Nord has evened out. Of course, that might be wishful thinking but one lives in hope. There is a map of cases by département in le Figaro but I cant get it to link. Clearly it hates me! Worth following the development though.

Another link then, not a government website. A personal initiative last year of a guy with programming skills, bringing together the official Covid statistics and the press coverage, the choice is yours: www.cartedudeconfinement.fr/tous-regions

Thank you for those links, folk. Where there is a problem in the Pas de Calais is that it is now often lumped in with the Nord; this gives a distorted picture as the latter always has higher case numbers that the former. Much of it is Lille and the old mining areas where spread is greater. Locally we know from earlier in the outbreak that numbers in the Pas de Calais went up sharply after a long weekend or holiday period when the Nord descended en masse to the coast, to places like Berck. Still, guess we all have to suck it up for the while.
